What a cookie is
A cookie is a small file a website leaves on your device and reads back on a later visit. Some cookies are needed to make the site work: they keep your session or remember which language you read in. Others measure how the site is used. Where “cookie” appears below, we also mean related techniques such as storage in your browser.
Necessary cookies
These cookies are always there, because without them the site does not work as intended. They do not follow you across other websites and they do not go to advertisers.

Depending on your visit, the platform also places a cookie that remembers your time zone, so dates and times on the site are correct.
Analytics cookies
We use Google Analytics 4 to see which pages are read and where visitors come from. As long as you do not give permission, Google consent mode stays on denied: nothing is stored on your device. Once you accept the cookies, these are added:

Google Analytics 4 uses your IP address to approximate your location and does not keep that address afterwards. We use no advertising cookies, no social network pixels and no cookies to build profiles for advertising.
Making and changing your choice
On your first visit a bar with two buttons appears at the bottom. If you choose “I agree”, we also place the analytics cookies. If you choose “Only essentials”, it stays with the necessary cookies above.
To revisit your choice, delete the cookies for this site in your browser: the bar appears again on your next visit. You can also block or delete cookies in general in your browser settings. If you block everything, part of the site will no longer work as intended.
Third-party cookies
Google Analytics is supplied by Google. The measurement data ends up with Google and may be processed outside the European Union. How we deal with that is set out in our privacy policy.
Changes
If we add a service that places cookies, we update this page and ask for your choice again. The version date is at the top of this page.
